In the Pemba and Monze districts of Zambia's Southern Plateau, skilled Batonga women craft iconic baskets from locally harvested palm leaves and wild twigs. Each basket takes days to make and uses palm leaves carefully boiled in natural dye and dried in the sun. These are traditionally used as fruit baskets but also look great in our favorite wall basket displays.
Measures approximately 12" Diameter, 3"-4" Tall.
These baskets are lightweight and perfect for hanging on your walls as art (they do not come with a woven loop - please visit
this blog post regarding tips for how to hang your new basket), used as functional baskets or displayed on a shelf. Each basket is handmade, so slight variance
in color + design will occur- that's part of the beauty!
